For once winter has come late to Rockley. After 2 months of relentless rain (Texans - just 6 days without rain between 30th November and 31st January - count 'em and weep...) we have at last got cold clear weather and winter sunshine but... its bloomin' cold...
Solar and Nico chose to stay in the shelter of the firs, clever boys...
Ted the QH is bemused as to what's happening...
...as is Knightley: "Darlings, we never had to deal with weather like this in Dubai...though actually between you and me its an improvement on 45 degrees of scorching heat."
Felix, Charllie and Georgia brave the fields, but there is an easterly wind.
Yes, its as cold as it looks, but at least the sun is shining and there is ad lib haylage...
Meanwhile, new boy Bryan and his owner braved the inclement weather for a long trip from Kent. Bryan (in the photo above) is a showjumper and obviously dwarfs Felix, though I think they will be mates (if Georgia allows). Bryan has been diagnosed on MRI with collateral ligament damage to his LF and bilateral pedal osteitis and navicular damage.
I've put his footage up but won't get photos till tomorrow. He was recently out of shoes when he arrived but as you can see has a very toe first landing especially on his LF/RH.
For contrast, and because I've been really remiss in posting his updated footage (partly due to rain, snow and darkness making filming difficult), here is Ted the QH's footage. Its taken a while to get him to a better landing but I am pleased with his progress.
